UEFI supported Graphics Cards (200s and newer AMD or 700 series newer Nvidia) normally require UEFI bios support to function properly. (Most direct Intel Boards have this, at least this Intel Test motherboard I have from the Core 2 Quad/ First Gen i7 era does.)

Which Intel Chipset is this?

Or take a screenshot of the Bios so I can see if I have a similar enough version to tinker around with (I have a 390 and a few Intel Boards I can mess with.)

Best time to upgrade is always the 1st or 2nd architecture after a node shrink.

Sorry guys. I've been out due to a bit of bad luck. I'll get you the stuff that you've requested norm.

So I'm back. My main SSD is working fine. My old hard drive is having issues booting still.

When I try to boot the Win 7 HD, I get the 00 code (Handoff to operating system). After disconnecting my R9 390 graphics card and reconnecting the older Radeon 6950, I get to the Win 7 boot screen. It tries to boot, then crashes. When I try to start in safe mode, it shows the drivers loading, then crashes.

With the old HD, could it be a driver issue? It worked fine with the old motherboard. I can still go through This PC (Win 10) and access pictures, documents and music on the old HD.

If it's the old mobo drivers conflicting with the new mobo, what would be the best way to fix it?

I cloned my old HD and used the new SSD to upgrade to Win 10. I was having issues, so I had to wipe and clean install Win 10. Now I need my old product key to activate windows, and the only way to get it is to boot up the old HD.

My current Bios Version is: BGP6710J.86A.2161.2012.0214.2350 for the DP55KG

Have you run CrystalDiskInfo to look at the SMART health status of the drive? Attach it as a second HDD and use your SSD to boot off and check it.

I gave it a try. The drive is good. I even went through the command prompt > wmic > diskdrive get status. All 3 lines were "OK".

Is your copy of Windows on your SSD? If so, boot from the SSD as normal (in your bios, set it to the highest priority boot option) and then once in windows, download CrystalDiskInfo and run it.

It will then tell you the SMART health of the drive to confirm there aren't any hardware errors.
